Pam welcomed everyone and started the ceremony
Youth from both wards sang an opening song, Henefer. They were accompanied by Faith Richins and lead by Tanah Stevens

- Joyce Housley, Daughter and Town Council
- Maxine Smith, ISDUP President
- Mel Brown, Utah State Legislature
- Brother Fisher, Former member of the 70
President Kenneth Stephens gave the dedicatory prayer.
Those in attendance were then invited to tour the new building and artifacts. There was a great turnout. People came from far and wide to be a part of this event. It was so neat to see how many were there to support.
So many people are to be thanked for making this day possible. Pam and Orlene were mentioned several times during the ceremony. Many of the daughters also played a big role in helping to get the building ready. So many people inside and out of our little town helped make this possible and we are forever grateful for them and the sacrifices they made on our behalf. THANK YOU!
August Meeting
On August 11th we held our monthly meeting.
LeeAnn Rowser was great enough to lead us in a song from the Pioneer Song Book. We were so happy to have music again and grateful to LeeAnn and Marie Richins for playing the piano.
Patty gave the thought and challenged us all to get to know one of the people in our museum. Not just know who is in the picture but get to know their story. She told us to not forget our past but live for the future.
Pam had the following items of business:

Pam had the following items of business:
- If you have histories that are not on file with the ISDUP then let Pam know. You can check online to see if they have them yet or not.
- For those who have signed up to work shifts at the museum, Marie will be putting together a schedule and will have a list of alternates if you're unable to come. Please find coverage.
- There will be an election in March. Be thinking of who you would like as leaders of our camp.
Orlene had the following items regarding the building:
- The park on the grounds are not finished and look amazing!
- Bishop Boyer did a special flag raising ceremony for the park's flags and gave a great lesson to the scout aged boys from both wards before the flag was raised.
- We now have a phone number: 435.336.1847, and an e-mail address: dupdaughters@allwest.net
- If you are working a shift at the museum and the donation bottle gets full, for safety reasons, please put the money in the manilla envelope in the 2nd drawer. She also gave instructions on the cash box. If you have any questions please ask Orlene.
Upcoming dates:
County Convention is 9/1/15
Next Meeting is 9/8/15, it will be a special meeting as Calvin Stephens will be talking and always does a great job.
Valarie gave the lesson, Pam and Beverly did the treats. We had a lot of people in attendance at this meeting and it meant a lot to Pam. Thank you for coming!

- James Aldon Richins sent a nice letter thanking us for the program and dedication.

- Pat won the quilt! It was quite fitting since she put so much work into putting it on. Thanks to everyone else that helped as well. Pam presented the quilt to her at this meeting, Congrats!!!
- Wendy said there were a lot of visitors in the museum from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. while the museum was open. They all had great things to say!
- Orlene gave a financial update that they made $1659 between the booth and donations from the open house. That is a significant increase from years passed. Yay!

2015 Opening Social
Tuesday, April 14th we held our annual opening social at the church. We had a great turnout and enjoyed each other's company.
There were 3 new members announced:
Launa Stephens Blonquist
Virginia Richins
Marsha Stephens Crittenden
And 3 anniversaries celebrated:
Joye D. Ovard- 50 years- Orlene presented Joye with her pin and told a few fun facts about her. When she was just a toddler she was out with her brother chopping wood and had the tip of her finger chopped off! She also had a bobcat run in between her legs as a little girl. She played on the Henefer Schmoos softball team. She said she mostly played the bench (haha!) but also played field and short stop. She also said she pitched a game and the balls went everywhere! Congratulations Joye!
Pam W. Robbins- 40 years- Unfortunately Pam was sick and not able to be present for the social.
Patty Richins- 10 years- Wendy presented her with her pin. Congrats Patty! She seemed very surprised to have it be 10 years already.
Business discussed:
What to do with the cabin? The suggestion was made to have the lot sold with the building AS IS. It would be a closed bid sale. Moving it to the new location is not feasible financially. Any other ideas are welcome! An official vote will be taken at the next meeting.
There was a quilt found in the old cabin made by the Henefer 1st ward primary. If anyone has any ideas what to do with that please let Pam know.
A sign up sheet for lessons/histories/refreshments for meetings the upcoming year was passed around. If you're interested in participating in any of these roles please contact Pam or Wendy.

Out with the Old, in with the New
The last few months several people have been working VERY hard to get the cabin cleaned out and all of the items moved into the new building. We thank you all so much for your hard work and dedication to this move.
The old cabin is all but empty now:
The new building is coming right a long and with everyone's help will be up and running by the open house/dedication on June 20th. It is such a blessing to have so much space to set up all of these amazing artifacts! There are so many things no one was able to see because there was no room in the old building to display them.
